CHILD CARE HEALTH CONSULTANTS
The Child Care Health Consultants are registered nurses that partner with child care centers, group and family child care homes, and school-age programs to foster a safe and healthy environment for children. The Consultant will act as a resource to help you
- develop a health care plan for your program.
- offer training and education about health related issues.
- develop policies and procedures to help keep children and adults safe and healthy.
- answer questions about common child care health issues.
Medication Administration
If a child care provider chooses to administer medications (except diaper rash cream and sunscreen), they must complete a 10 hour Medication Administration Training (MAT), become CPR/First Aid certified, and have a Child Care Health Consultant approve a health care plan.
