Summer vacation can be a fun and exciting or a long and difficult time for parents and their children. If summer camp is included in your plans, beginning your search in early spring can eliminate frantically looking for a suitable and available program.
A good place to start the process is to call the Capital District Child Care Council at 426-7181. Parents Educators can suggest a variety of area camps, highlighting the types of programs offered, fees, and hours of operation.
With many camps and recreational programs from which to choose in the Capital Region, there is a lot of variety! In trying to choose a camp that best fits the particular interests of your child in addition to the scheduling needs and financial concerns of your family, the Capital District Child Care Council is the place to start!
If age appropriate, parents should try to involve their children in the decision making process as much as possible. Choosing the right camp can provide a fun-filled and enriching experience for your child!
Each spring, the Child Care Council publishes a Summer Camp Catalog listing a variety of programs in the Capital Region. The Summer Camp Catalog is FREE and can be picked up at our office at 91 Broadway in Menands (please call ahead to be sure it's available). Or, you can have the catalog mailed to your home. Simply call 518 426-7181 and ask to speak to a Parent Educator.
