A Child’s Place at Unity House is hiring a Childcare Teacher 2 to provide a safe nurturing environment for Children ages 6 weeks to age 5. If you are experienced in childcare, patient and flexible we would love to have, you join our team of educators. The Childcare Teacher 2 will be in a classroom and will also occasionally act as Assistant Child Care Manager and support the manager in the daily functions of operating a childcare center. Requirements: must have an AA in Early Childhood Education, knowledge of child development and Office of Children and family service regulations. TITLE

Infant, Toddler and Preschool Teaching Positions

DESCRIPTION

Viking Child Care Center at Hudson Valley Community College has immediate full-time openings for Infant, Toddler and Preschool Teachers. We are looking for qualified professionals who are enthusiastic about early care and education to come join our team. The ideal candidates must have the minimum qualifications required and perform the duties and responsibilities: Qualifications: • Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education; Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred; and • Experience in an early childhood care setting Duties and Responsibilities: • Provide attentive care in a nurturing environment • Provide a classroom environment that is developmentally appropriate and responsive to children’s strengths, interests and needs to promote the social, emotional, physical and educational development and growth of each child • Ensure the classroom is stocked with materials and supplies that reflect diverse images. The Commission on Economic Opportunity (CEO) is seeking an Early Head Start (EHS) Center Manager to provide leadership and oversight at our Lansingburgh Family Resource Center. The EHS Center Manager will be responsible for the curriculum, enrollment, parent and school relations, facility maintenance efforts, risk management, and licensing compliance of five Infant/Toddler classrooms as well as the supervision of the classroom staff. The EHS Center Manager will work alongside the Head Start Center Manager to provide support, supervision, and guidance to all center staff.

The Early Childhood Services Program at the CEO is viewed as an investment in our community’s youngest residents. Through our Early Head Start/Head Start Program we work with children age 6 weeks to Kindergarten and strive to prepare them for school by offering safe and enjoyable childcare which incorporates learning and social/emotional skill development. Children enrolled in our program learn the “Kindergarten readiness” skills they need to do well in school.

More specifically the candidate will:

• Implement and enforce all Department policies, procedures and regulations as they pertain to the Head Start Child Outcome Framework and Performance Standards, Day Care Licensing and Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Program requirements

• Actively participate in the NYS OCFS Day Care Licensing Renewal Process

• Supervise, direct and evaluate the performance of all assigned staff in compliance with all agency and personnel policies and procedures and OCFS regulations

• Ensure the collection, review, accuracy, and submission of all required paperwork, and reports to include time sheets, purchase orders, in-kind and enrollment following CEO policies and procedures

• Coordinate substitutes, volunteers, student teachers, interns, service providers in classrooms following agency and department policies and procedures

Qualifications: Minimum of 1-year prior teaching experience and 1+ years of management experience in a childcare facility, Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or related field required, as well as knowledge of Daycare Licensing regulations and a valid and clean driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications: In addition to the above, Early Childhood teaching certification and 3-5 years’ experience in a leadership role with management level responsibilities and prior experience in a Head Start Program.
