Tips to Help You Avoid Ticks

Regardless of the type of outdoor activities you have planned, be prepared for ticks.

1- Don’t wear shorts and sneakers into densely overgrown areas of bush

Hiking boots or any high ankle boots are a better choice

2-Wear long sleeved clothing

3-Grab your bug spray and apply according to instructions

If applied directly to skin, wash promptly when returning inside

4-Hats should be worn and sprayed with bug spray

5-Tuck pants into socks and boots, combined with bug spray, this prevents bugs from crawling up pant legs

6-When returning home examine yourself with a mirror to check for ticks

7-Checking your hair is also important, however this can be difficult

Try to have another person look through your hair

If you find a tickand it is deeply embedded, a doctor visit is the best course of action.
