Family Child CareProvider Training and Technical AssistanceThe Child Care Council Family Child Care Training Program is designed to support and educate those who are interested in providing high quality in-home child care.
The Council’s Family Child Care Educators assist with setting up the family child care home, selecting equipment, developing good business practices, and answering questions about how to become a regulated provider. Contact Anne Gresco at agresco@cdcccc.org.
In addition, services for continuing education in child development and family child care programming are available through group workshops or individualized training plans. The Council’s Family Child Care Educators also make technical assistance visits to family child care homes.
Health and Safety TrainingThe Council’s Family Child Care Educators offer the 15 hour health and safety training required by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services for family or group family child care providers. Topics covered include indoor and outdoor safety, fire safety, supervision, sudden infant death and shaken baby syndrome, child abuse, food safety, infection control, health history and immunizations, daily health checks, and planning for medical emergencies.
