Child Development Associate (CDA)

The Child Development Associate (CDA) is a nationally recognized professional credential for individuals working in the early childhood field and directly caring for and teaching young children. The CDA demonstrates a teacher’s ability to turn knowledge into practice. Early educators that participate in the CDA preparatory program gain:

  • Hands on experience
  • Formal child development training and education
  • Observations by a qualified advisor
  • A collection of resources
  • Parent opinions

Child care professionals earn a CDA credential from the Council for Professional Recognition, a national credentialing organization, www.cdacouncil.org.  To earn a CDA credential, candidates must actively demonstrate competence in supporting the development of children.
The CDA preparatory program tuition is $1700 and includes books and mentoring.
Educational Incentive Program Scholarships may be available for all or part of the tuition.
